This tower designed by Richard Rogers and Partners is the result of a competition in 2001 to explore this prime site in the City of London. This is a sensitive area of the city due to the important views of St Paul's Cathedral.

The tower has been designed with this issue in mind and its iconic shape tapers at the top resulting in a positive effect on the surrounding skyline.

One of its selling points is the spectacular, semi-enclosed, cathedral like public space at ground level which returns space to the public and city.
