It has been hard to avoid the recent cold snap in the UK and not get affected by it in some way or another. Snow and ice have been branded harbingers of doom by all the rolling news channels, causing the collapse of infrastructure across an ill-prepared country. As a result of this frosty fear mongering, it is often too easy to forget about what incredible beauty snow and ice can provide.
Watching an unstoppable force of nature crawl into urban environments and creep across buildings creates stunning imagery. As well as this, both natural and man-made lighting can be magical, inspirational and nostalgic. Here is a mix of winter-time photography from a variety of places.
